SUPER Saturday at Greyville on 30 July will be the grand finale that brings the curtain down on Champions Season 2011.
The venue is Greyville and what a fantastic day it’s going to be with four Grade 1 horse races, fashion, charity celebrations and loads of fun.
Heading the 12-race programme is the famous R1-million, Grade 1 Canon Gold Cup supported by the celebrated R700 000, Grade 1 Champions Cup and the two Grade1 final clashes for juveniles, the Grade 1 Premier’s Champion Stakes and the Grade 1 Thekwini Stakes.
But the day is not all about the Thoroughbreds there will be lots of two legged fillies to glam up the day.
GLITZ, GLAMOUR, GALORE
Fashion has always been a feature of this great racemeeting and this year the theme for the day is “Sunrise, Sunset”, appropriately carrying the raceday action through into the night when the tent town celebrations will be in full swing.
The fashion scene, traditionally less exotic than Vodacom Durban July Day, is more sophisticated with invited designers focussing their creations on the “Sunrise, Sunset” theme and the additional “Best Dressed” competition open to all fashionistas on the day. The “Best Dressed Person” will walk off with R3000 cash from Gold Circle, a Canon digital camera and a Huawei IDEOS handset.
