RIVER JETEZ, the stable’s entry for Sunday’s Group 1 Singapore International Airlines Cup over 2000m at Kranji, was given a gallop on grass at the track on Tuesday.
The seven-year-old mare completed the last 600m of her gallop in 37.8 seocnds and assistant trainer Trevor Brown then took her to the parade ring to familiarize herself with her surroundings.
“She galloped very well on the turf,” said Brown. “She ran over 1200m and bolted up the straight.
“She’s very fit and doesn’t need a lot of work, but we may still give her a short sharp piece of work on Friday.
“She was happy and relaxed in the parade ring.
“I think she will like the longer straight here and it’s not as tight as Hong Kong, more like Dubai. Her form on the left-handed bend is good. It’s a tough field, but she’s well, we’re looking forward to the race.
“In Hong Kong in the APQEII Cup, she was slow into stride and had to be bustled up early. She never settled and it was hard for her to turn on the speed.”
