THREE-year-old gelding Ibiscus (ARG) put his act together to record his Maiden win in a 2000m contest at Greyville on Tuesday evening, 8 March.
Anthony Delpech produced owner Friti Hay’s dark brown gelding with a sustained run to win by a quarter-of-a-length, easy to back at 4-1.
Assistant trainer Nathan Kotzen commented: “We changed our tactics with Ibiscus, Anthony dropped him out for a late run. He only won narrowly, but he did it easier than it seemed. He’s a young horse with scope and learning still, I think he’s one to watch over ground this season.”
Ibiscus is by Not For Sale (the sire of Asiatic Boy), from a good female line – his half-brother by Lode is a Graded winner in Argentina.
