THREE-year-old filly Meezah drifted in the betting from 15-10 to 9-2 at Clairwood on Wednesday but she won like the proverbial good thing, steaking clear by four lenghts in a 1200m Maiden Plate.
She’s been backed twice before at Scotsvilole but ran below expectations and Mike commented: “We fancied Meezah both times but she’s obviously a filly who is improving with racing. We were careful yesterday, we couldn’t have confidence but on te way she won she’s obviously starting to come to hand now. She’s by Goldkeeper from the potent potent mare Mystic Spring, who produced Rabiyah, so there is good reason to believe she won’t stop improving now.”
Mike added that Meezah should excel over more ground. “It’s always a pleasuee to win a race for Sheikh Hamdan of Dubai and we extend our thanks for his support of South African racing.”
