WITH two wins from seven starts, Mary Slack’s beautifully-bred Northern Chorus is likely to win again before the season’s over and she is retired to stud.
The four-year-old daughter of Fort Wood and stakes winner Headstrong had her merit rating lifted from 62 to 67 after winning a MR66 at Scottsville on Wednesday, but she is conceivably better than that rating too, which makes her one for the notebook.
“Northern Chorus has improved recently after we gave her a short break. She has more improvement left and can win again soon if we find the right race for her,” said assistant trainer John Buckler.
