Trois Trois Quatre got out of the Maidens with a good win over 1950m at Scottsville on 19 July. He ran on well from near the end of the pack and won going away, showing ability and a nice action.
Said jockey JP van der Merwe: “I may have let him go to soon, he got to the front quickly and started looking for company.” That was a nice comment actually, and the Hollywood Syndicate can look foward to more from this progressive looking gelding.
Mike de Kock and Anthony Delpech, another winner together – as trainer and owner this time.
Trois Trois Quatre is French for Three Three Four (334), the number of winners Anthony Delpech rode in the 1998/9 season to set the South African record.
Delpech, nominee of the syndicate, said he was touched by the naming of the horse and very proud to see it win.
Trois Trois Quatre is by Rafeef from Badger Creek, by Ideal World. He was bred at Mauritzfontein Stud.
