The first official 4Racing operator’s log for the 2022 R2 million Gr1 Gauteng Summer Cup to be run at Turffontein on Saturday 26 November was published on Wednesday.
Mike de Kock has the top two on the log and also on the Hollywoodbets antepost betting boards in Safe Passage (5-2) and Hollywoodbets Durban July winner, Sparkling Water (7-2), amongst his powerful sextet.
Also among the De Kock entries is SA Derby winner Aragosta, as well as MK’s Pride, who has recently moved to that yard from the disbanded Paul Peter operation.
Sean Tarry has the most entries with 14, among them Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara champion Rain In Holland.
Justin Snaith’s impressive Hoedspruit is among the entries, although his first prep last Saturday in the Topbet Mike O’Connor Gr2 Joburg Spring Challenge was not highly inspiring.
Joey Soma’s 2022 World Sports Betting SA Classic champion, Red Saxon, is also among the entries.
Second entries close at 11am on Tuesday 1 November and final entries at 9am on Friday 18 November after which the weights will be announced.
Declarations must be in by 11am on Monday 21 November.
