HERMOSO Mundo, the 2017 eLan Gold Cup winner at Greyville, makes his Dubai debut in a 2000m handicap at Meydan tonight. Bernard Fayd’Herbe will ride the six-year-old.

Hermoso Mundo.

Hermoso Mundo was one of four South African imports who arrived in the UAE only at the end of January and Mike de Kock commented: “We’re behind the eight-ball with his fitness. I’d like to get two runs into him with a view to the 3200m race on World Cup night – tonight’s race and one more.  There is a race on Super Saturday and a Gr3 in Abu Dhabi a week later, we’ll go for one or the other. We’ll have to race him fit.”

Mike added: “Hermoso Mundo is a nice stayer we’ve enjoyed working with.”

Baroot will be lining up in the same race, Adrie de Vries on board, and Mike said: “What you see is what you get, he’s game and has been running well, should be thereabouts though this is his highest ever mark in a handicap.”
