TOP two-year-old colt Soqrat will be all the rage as a Pick 6 banker in the Gr1 R750,000 Premiers Champion Stakes over 1600m at Greyville on Saturday and has been priced up at 6-10 favourite by Betting World.

Punters should, however, also pay respect to Mike de Kock’s other runner, Alyaasaat, perhaps include him in a cover Jackpot.

Soqrat.

Asked if he’d include Alyaasaat if he was to take a bet, Mike said: “Yes, I wouldn’t leave him out of exotics. He is a talented sort, an improving young horse.”

He said about the favourite: “Soqrat went back and was trained in Johannesburg after July Day. All is well with him, he has had a good prep. He is by a speed sire with stamina in his female line so I don’t think the mile will be a problem. If you look at the way he finished to Barahin in the Golden Horseshoe he should handle the trip well.”
