NOBLE Secret will be pointed at the Gr2 Gauteng Guineas after a decisive win in a MR88 Handicap over 1600m at the Vaal on Sunday.
Gelded for temperament after finishing third in a 1200m sprint in November, Noble Secret was “still a bit hot” but manageable in the saddling enclosure this time and looked well suited to the extra, quickening well and winning going away for jockey Randall Simons.
A Moutonshoek-bred son of Dynasty and Arabian Secret, Noble Secret competes in the old gold with royal blue seams of veteran owner Costa Livanos, who was on track with his wife Billy-Ann to lead in their winner.
“We are happy for Costa, a long-time patron. He was very excited,” said Mathew de Kock.
