BEST Kept Secret and Navarro notched a Vaal double for the stable on Tuesday, both handled by Callan Murray.

They were two of the most expensive yearlings of their generation, both are well on their way now and the stable will be hoping for continued improvement.

Best Kept Secret, by Captain Al from Secret Of Victoria, shed her Maiden tag with a half-length win, but the third horse was more than three lengths back so the form may stand up.

“Best Kept Secret is small and immature still, she has more to come with development,” said Mathew de Kock.

Best Kept Secret is owned by Mesdames Magnier and Nagle along with Dr Andreas and Mrs Natalie Jacobs of Maine Chance Farms and Markus Jooste’s Mayfair Speculators.

Navarro has now posted back-to-back wins over a mile and, like a typical Silvano, is grinding on and getting stronger with improvement. He races for Mayfair Speculators and with his rating still at a lowly 75, more wins can be expected in due course.
