SHEIKH Hamdan’s Shadwell purchased three yearlings for Mike de Kock on Tuesday, the opening day of the Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney, Australia.
They were Lot 20, a filly by All Too Hard from the Redoute’s Choice mare, Zingaling (A$200,00), Lot 74, a Redoute’s Choice colt from Catshaan (by Catrail), a half-sister to Kinshasha No Kiseki, Japan’s Champion Sprinter of 2012, for A$550,000; and Lot 101, a filly by Exceed and Excel ($350,000).
An energetic and diverse buying bench, mixed with an exceptionally strong catalogue, resulted in a powerful opening session of the 2017 Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
On a nostalgic day at Newmarket for the last ever Easter Sale at the iconic venue before the company moves to Riverside Stables at Warwick Farm, results showed the market was strong and both buyers and vendors were getting healthy results.
Statistically, Day 1 ended with an Average of $347,045, a Median of $300,000 and gross of $38,175,000 with a clearance rate at a healthy 80%.
