JEFF Lloyd created history on the Sunshine Coast, Wednesday evening, riding seven winners on the 12 race card, bettering the previous record for most metropolitan wins in a day.
Lloyd landed seven of the last eight winners, including the last five on the program.
By winning the final event on Plucky Girl, Lloyd surpassed the feat of legendary Mick Dittman, who won six races at Eagle Farm in November 1977. It also set a new mark for the Corbould Park track, taking the mantle from Michael Rodd, who won six races at the track in October 2003.
While it is true that Lloyd benefited from the expanded 12 race program, the fact remains he has achieved something no other Queensland based metropolitan jockey has ever achieved. His previous best in Queensland was five, although he did ride seven winners on a card previously in South Africa.

Words can’t describe how talented is the old good Jeff Lloyd. He won the Jockeys Premiership on multiple occasions in Mauritius. I hope he’ll keep on riding for many more years.
