JUBILEE Line has taken almost a year to win his second race, but Mike de Kock threw him in the deep end after his 1600m Maiden win last September and he’s showing now that he can still realise his potential.
Jubilee Line, confident again.
Jubilee Line (Gavin Lerena), won a Novice Plate over 1400m at the Vaal on Thursday in easy style and Mathew de Kock commented: “He’s getting his confidence back and that’s what we wanted, so we put him in this Novice Plate, we thought he’d do well despite liking it further.
“Jubilee Line raced in Graded company after his Maiden last season and he lost a bit of heart, but he’s coming back to himself now and is certainly a horse to watch. He’s a good sort, a maximum 2000m horse and he is able to build on this.”
Owned by Sheikh Hamdan, Jubilee Line is by Dynasty from Jabulani Jive, by Jallad,
Owner-breeder Chris Gerber races three-year-old filly Sultry in partnership with Mike de Kock. She ran well off them in her 1200m debut last week, but made the expected improvement in a Maiden Plate over 1800m to win for jockey JP van der Merwe at Turffontein, Saturday.
“Mathew said: “Sultry is by Mambo In Seattle from a Fort Wood mare, bred to stay, and she liked the extra. She was well kept by Chris Gerber, she’s a lovely filly and will stay even further.”
