MUBTAAHIJ is likely to be aimed at the Gr1 Woodward over 1800m at Saratoga Racecourse in New York on Saturday, 3 September.

Speaking to Laura King earlier this week, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum’s runner: “He took a bit of time to settle in but he’s doing very well now.

“He ran a good race in the Suburban and we’d like to go for the Woodward next, we also nominated him for the Gr1 Pacific Classic (2000m) at Del Mar in two weeks time (20 August), we”ll consider our options.

“We’d like to find another race or two for Mubtaahij before he goes back to Mike de Kock in Dubai.”
