HIGHLANDS Farm’s resident sire Great Britain (headline photo) had another impressive juvenile winner at the Vaal on Tuesday to take his winning streak to four in the past few days.
Great Britain’s latest winner was 2yo filly Hashtag Strat, who races for Kaden Maroun and trainer Louis Goosen. Bred by Anthony Maroun, the filly simply romped to victory on Tuesday –outgunning her rivals to land a maiden juvenile plate for fillies over 1000m at the Vaal by three lengths.
“She’s on the small side, but nice and speedy. She beat what I thought was a good field,” said Goosen.
Hashtag Strat is the sixth juvenile winner this season for Great Britain, whose other juveniles include G2 Debutante/Umkhomazi Stakes nominated Wrecking Ball. The latter is unbeaten in two starts to date.
From the family of numerous champions including his outstanding sire own brother Cape Cross, Great Britain shares his sire, Green Desert, with a plethora of top class stallions including Invincible Spirit, Oasis Dream (sire of Querari and Power) and Volksraad.
The sire has 3 lots on offer at the CTS August Two-Year-Old Sale- they include a filly from the family of Breeders’ Cup champion Miss Alleged –dam of former Highlands sire Joshua Dancer (Lot 10), and a filly out of a Silvano half sister to 3 G1 winners (Lot 11).
