The 2016 Val de Vie Yearling Sale has found its niche on the South African sales calendar, catering for a mix of select top-class and value-for-money yearlings.
The sale venue at the Val de Vie estate helps to classify the sale as a boutique auction, intimate and classy. It echoes the words of Val de Vie founder Martin Venter, ‘to leave a legacy that will have a lasting, positive impact on those around us’.
This year’s Valentine’s Day Sale features just over a hundred yearlings, which are progeny of just under 40 different stallions. As was the case last year, the sale has a small number of ‘select’ yearlings. These were nominated by their vendors as outstanding specimens. Gr1 producing sires Captain Al, Trippi, Var and Ideal World are among the sires of the select group.
A diamond necklace will be awarded to the buyer of the highest priced select lot.
