IT’s all systems go for Noah From Goa in Saturday’s Gr1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate at Kenilworth.
Here is the Tiger Ridge three-year-old, pictured earlier this week with assistant trainer Clayton Matthee at Brett Crawford’s Philippi training base.
Mathew de Kock reported on Friday that Noah From Goa looks very well within himself and said: “I just had a look at him and I’m impressed. What can we say prior to this famous race? He’s taking on South Africa’s big guns and we’ll be delighted with a good run. Whatever happens, win or lose, thanks to Brett and his team for hosting us here at Philippi.”
Mat said that Pine Princess (Gr1 Maine Chance Paddock Stakes), had come on from her prep run at Turffontein last month and with her proven top-level form would be in with a shout.
The stable’s third Cape runner is promising Mooghamir, who takes on other up-and-coming three-year-olds in the Gr3 Politician Stakes over 1800m.
“Mooghamir is very well, he steps up to Graded company but we’re expecting a good run. If he runs a decent race we’ll consider leaving him here for the Cape Derby.”
