October 20, 2015AUSTRALIAN-breds fetched the serious money at the Emperors Palace Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale held at the Inanda Club in Sandton on Sunday, accounting for five of the top six lots.
Joint top price was the R2 million paid by KZN owner Brian Burnard for a Myboycharlie(Ire) filly (# 115), while Mayfair Speculators paid the same for the sale’s talking horse, a Lonhro (Aus) colt (# 60).
Lot 188: Belle Rose, a half-sister to Pierre Jourdan from Summerhill Stud.
Form Bloodstock’s Jehan Malherbe bought four lots that will join Mike de Kock’s stable including Lot 188, a Golden Sword filly from Vin Fizz – a half-sister to Pierre Jourdan, secured for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum’s Al Adiyaat.
The sale, held at the fashionable inner city venue, grossed an aggregate of R 36 065 000, with an average of R 225 406 and a median of R110 000, all figures well up on the 2014 results.
160 of the 199 catalogued lots were sold.
