ALONGSIDE Avontuur Stud’s stallion Oratorio’s Australian success last weekend came a fine victory in the UK by Time Test, a three-year-old son of Klawervlei’s recently acquired stallion Twice Over.
Time Test picked up his second Group win when he landed the G2 Shadwell Joel Stakes over a high class field at Newmarket.
The Roger Charlton trained colt, who was dispatched a red hot, 10-11 favourite, has now won four of seven outings, with the Dubawi colt’s prior wins including a three and a quarter length romp in the G3 Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Twice Over. He looks set to do it more than a couple of times!
The colt clearly impressed his connections, with his trainer hinting a tilt at the Breeders Cup could be next for Time Test, “He really does ideally want better ground and although he’s in the QEII and the Champion Stakes, you have to wonder what the going is likely to be there,” he said. “That might bring Keeneland into the equation too, although we’ve still got next year to look forward to as well.
A four time Group 1 winner who earned over £2.5 million in prize money, Twice Over is set to be represented by an exceptional first crop of yearlings in South Africa in 2016.
