JOCKEY Warren Kennedy is keeping the stable’s winning tally ticking over in KwaZulu-Natal, where assistant trainers Nathan Kotzen and John Buckler are preparing Mike de Kock’s runners.
Kennedy scored a back-to-back victory on five-year-old mare Forgive No Forget, who rallied well to win a MR81 Handicap over 2000m at Clairwood on Saturday.
Forgive No Forget: Won going away.
Forgive No Forget seems to have left her lacklustre days behind her and Kennedy confirmed: “At the top of the straight I was battling to get running room, but once she saw space she quickened very well. Her work has improved at home and I fancied another good run today.”
Kotzen said: “Forgive No Forget is getting better, her work before her previous win was mediocre, but she must have gained confidence from winning because on her most recent work I gave her a big chance today.”
Forgive No Forget is by Danehill stallion Darci Brahma, who occupies third spot on the sire’s log in New Zealand. She is owned by Hong Kong-based Winston Chow of The Apache fame. From what we’ve seen in recent weeks of this improved mare, Mr Chow will be banking a few more stake cheques before she retires.
