DIANE de Kock, who’s up at the crack of dawn working with her string of unraced young horses at Randjesfontein, has donated a well-sized wooden hut to the Randjesfontein Work Riders, who put hundreds of horses through their paces every morning, summer through winter.
When the wind blows a certain way over the North Rand plains it can get mighty chilly out there and the hut, erected near the training paddocks, will serve as a warm rest stop for the riders.
Diane’s named it,”The Abram Makhubo Clubhouse” – in honour of the late multiple Champion Work Rider who was a good friend to all and a mentor to many who work at Randjes, and she’s supplied coffee and tea for the first month.
