THE race for champion trainer will come down to Wednesday at Scottsville, the final meeting of the season. Neither incumbent Mike de Kock nor challenger Sean Tarry was able to grab a clear initiative over the weekend, writes JACK MILNER.
Both failed to find a winner at Saturday’s Greyville meeting but Tarry did have two winners at Turffontein on Saturday.
Neither has a runner at Flamingo Park on Monday or at Kenilworth on Tuesday, so the championship will be decided at Scottsville.
Going into the meeting De Kock still holds a lead of R297,662 over Tarry, but the challenger is carded to have eight runners at the meeting while De Kock is set to saddle just three.
