ONE astute South African soccer fan has lots to celebrate after winning R496,393 with a Soccer 13 bet on Wednesday 10 July. The fan spent only R3.20!

Soccer 13 is a multi-match bet, in which the results of 13 games must be correctly forecast to win the main dividend. There are three result options to choose from in each match – a win by either team or a draw – with consolation payouts for forecasting 10, 11 or 12 of the games correctly.

There were only two outright winners on 10 July and they shared the R966,329 pool for correctly predicting the outcome of all 13 matches.

The South African winner made only one choice in 12 matches and chose two of the three options in the other game. Soccer 13 costs R1.60 a line so the winning entry comprised two lines at a cost of R3.20.

There are three Soccer 13 pools weekly and previous big winners include a 13 June winner of over a million rand for just R41,60.
