KAVANAGH finished fifth in Sunday’s Gr1 Singapore International Airlines Krisflyer Sprint at Kranji after losing his good early poistion off a strong pace. He was beaten 3.5-lengths by Lucky Nine and just shaded out of fourth by Balmont Blast.

Jockey Glynn Schofield commented:  “He was flattened early and finished up much further back than I wanted to be, but he’s run a very honest race.”

Kavanagh earned a minor stake cheque for his efforts.
