THREE-year-old filly Warrior’s Passion claimed her Maiden win at the fourth attempt in a 1600m contest at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Warrior’s Passion (22-10 favourite), scored by 1.25-lengths under Dubai-bound Anthony Delpech and with more improvement could earn a few more stake cheques.
There’s not much to this daughter of recently deceased sire Casey Tibbs, but owners Charles Savage and Brad Leather love her to pieces and they were over the moon after the win.
Said Savage: “Warrior’s Passion is the first foal of Summer Passion, the first horse Brad and I raced in partnership. She won four and missed black type by one place in the Oaks. She is also a full sister to our stakes winner, Captain’sWild, and our first home-bred winner at that!
“There are three magic ‘babies’ to come, with the full sister Wild Dancer heading to join Warrior’s Passion soon. This was also a first win in Brad’s colours and the first win for our racing syndicate, @teamwildracing”.
Savage added: “She has plenty of followers on twitter where she was named and can be followed @warriorspassion. This feels as good if not better than any other winner having raced the mother, brother and bred her. We love this game!”
