THE Emperors Palace National 2yo Sale takes place at the TBA complex in Germiston on Friday, August 10. The sale continues on Sunday the 12th.
One of the best value for money sales in the country, the 2yo sale has a long history of producing Gr 1 winners and champions, both locally and abroad.
Recent graduates of the sale include this season’s multiple G1 winner and potential champion elect Jackson as well as last year’s Equus Champion 3yo colt, The Apache (photo above).
Jackson, the sales topper in 2010, is one of the best horses of his generation having won both the G1 Investec Cape Derby and G1 Daily News 2000.
In past years, the National 2yo Sale has produced such outstanding local performers as Tatler, Night Diva, Port of London, Lyrical Linda, Fez, Talahatchie, Rock Opera, Zaitoon, Warning Zone and Asylum Seeker to name a few – all of whom were either G1 winners or Equus Champions!
There have also been a host of international, world-class performers sold at the 2yo sale. The likes of Irridescence, Dane Julia, J J The Jet Plane and River Jetez are all past graduates and all four went on to outstanding racing careers, first locally and then internationally.
