AUSTRALIAN-bred three-year-old filly Tajmeel, a popular banker in exotic bet types at Scottsville on Tuesday, delighted punters with her impressive Maiden win in a 1600m contest, skating home 8.75-lengths clear at 5-10 in the hands of Anthony Delpech.
Tajmeel is owned by Sheikh Hamdan of Dubai and was bred by his Shadwell Stud by Nadeem from Asaleeb by Alhaarth, and on pedigree alone she could have a bright future.
Assistant trainer Nathan Kotzen noted: “We ran Tajmeel against the colts in a Maiden Plate over 1400m first time out at Greyville. She needed the experience and ran under two lengths off the winner so was always going to be hard to peg back.
“There were a few scratchings from this race and she didn’t beat much, but she could only win and it was very impressive. She will race over more ground as she matures and she’s one to watch.”
