FORMER SA Derby winner Irish Flame bounced back to winning ways with a commanding victory in a Conditions Stakes over 2200m at Kempton Park Racecourse, London, on Thursday evening.
Irish Flame looked a class above, striding 3,25-lengths clear on the Polytrack under jockey Luke Morris. He set a course record in the process.

Mike de Kock commented: “We’re glad Irish Flame has come back to winning form. He was lacklustre in Dubai last season, but I’ve seen that happen with horses that travel between continents. He’s enjoyed himself in England and my team has done as a good job with him.”
Irish Flame is being prepared for the Hong Kong Vase at Sha-Tin in December.

Awesome!!!! I’m soooo thrilled to hear he’s found his stride again 🙂 Love this horse, he & Bold Silvano are my favorite South African runners by miles & I was so disappointed to see him lose form in Dubai, knowing he’s capable of so much more.
Congrats to Mike & his team & here’s hoping the Flame scorches em in Hong Kong!
We are thriled as well. We knew he could do it .Watch him in races to come especialy over 2200 and longer
What was his time and what was the previous course record?
@Percy: Congrats to you & your partners on the win!
Here’s hoping there will be many more to come & rest assured I will be glued to my TV (where possible) watching & cheering for the Flame in everyone of them! 🙂
