MASTER OF HOUNDS, runner-up to Godolphin’s Khawlah in the UAE Derby at Meydan in March for Aidan O’Brien, will be aimed at the 2012 Dubai World Cup having been sold to Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, the main patron of trainer Mike De Kock.
Master Of Hounds was well beaten in the Belmont Stakes on his latest start, having run a good fifth in the Kentucky Derby before that.
Master Of Hounds.
De Kock said: “I think you can ignore that last run because the mile and a half on a sloppy track was just too far for him, certainly at this stage. He is in England now, being prepared to travel to Dubai later in the year.
“He obviously enjoyed running in Dubai this year so is an exciting addition to the team and the World Cup itself would have to be the target if all goes to plan.”
