MIKE has returned from Dubai and will be at Turffontein on Saturday to saddle runners in various feature events.

Captain’s Wild could be his best of the day in the Grade 2 Colorado King Stakes over 2000m and he commented: “He’s a rangy horse who looks like a stayer and he should like the 2000m. He doesn’t show much at home but he’s a horse with ability, her should run a good race.”

Worood: Sycamore Sprint.

Ilha Grande (Oaks Trial) and The Raj (Derby Trial), look to have a bit to do on form and Mike said: “They are both good enough to play a part, but will have to raise their game to win. We’ll see how they go.”

Headstrong and Worood will line up in the Sycamore Sprint.

“They’re both better on sand, but they have ability and we’re expecting good efforts.”
