A number of crackerjack three-year-olds have been accepted to race in the Grade 1 Bloodstock SA Cape Guineas (R1 million), scheduled for 18 December at Kenilworth. They include trainer Mike Bass’ rising star What A Winter (headline photo), Mike de Kock’s smart Graded winners Kavanagh and Perana and Joey Ramsden’s Il Saggiatore.

Recent winner of this illustrious classic include Pointing North, Le Drakkar and Noordhoek Flyer. Mike de Kock’s most famous winner of the BSA Guineas was Horse Chestnut in 1999.
