At Turffontein, Betway Ambassador Mike de Kock has 10 runners carded, a few chances among them, and he filed comments, as below:
Race 4, 1400m: “Forever Mine lost his form before a rest, but he is doing well at home. We’re going to try something different, get him to come from behind instead of letting him go to the front like he’s done many times before. Let’s see how he goes, he’ll probably need it. Humdinger is as game as they come and she’s in here with a handy weight, well handicapped and well drawn. She’s won three races over 1400m and is bound to give a good account of herself again, a definite inclusion.”
Race 5, 1400m. “Three fillies with somewhat inconsistent form in Bold Act, Sea Anenome and Simple Simple, but they have been racing in some good company. They’re all well and you have to consider them for Quartets. If I have to pick between them, maybe Sea Anenome whose recent form is best, but a tricky contest with one or two others that may be better.”
Race 6, 1200m: “Zinovi is a horse I’ve always rated, he comes off a wind operation. He wasn’t breathing well before and did well despite that. He is fine now, breathing well. I’m not mad about his inside draw for the sprint, but he is a horse with ability worth including.”
Race 7, 1160m: “Three decent fillies in the race for us, though a few to beat. White Pearl’s at best up to 1400m, doesn’t quite get the mile so we’re bringing her back to a sprint. She is talented, but I scratch my head when I look at her rating vs the rating of Mrs Browning, who is more accomplished. She’s drawn on the inside, not ideal. The other two, Good Queen Bess and Platina Princess, are drawn better. They’re also fairly well handicapped so if you’re going to look beyond Mrs Browning and One Fell Swoop, they come into play.
Race 8, 1000m: “Woman Of Power is effective over 1000m. She’s not a bad filly when she puts it together and you can ignore her last run. Include.”
