MIKE de Kock has expressed his sadness about the death of training colleague Brian Wiid, who passed away aged 72 on Friday.
He said: “Brian was an affable and gentle character, always up for a chat and sharing ideas. Back in 2004 I got to know him quite well when Michael Azzie and I were based at the international barn in Dubai.
“Brian was a good horseman, he brought over to the UAE Magic Master, a decent sprinter unlucky not to win there for him, but we spent good times together and had a lot of fun. We had a lot of time for Brian, and I’m sure I’m speaking on behalf of the entire training community.
“Our sympathies to Brian’s family, may he rest in peace.”
