IRISH-bred Syncopation, by Dark Angel, broke his Maiden at the non-Carnival meeting held at Meydan on Thursday, 9 March, winning by five lengths over 1400m on dirt for jockey Sam Hitchcott.

 Mike de Kock said of this colt trained for Mali Al Basti: “Syncopation is an improving type of hose and I’m glad we’ve got his Maiden behind us. He will stay on here in Dubai until 2018 and will be a decent runner for 2018, probably outside of the Carnival.”
