MIKE de Kock’s APQEII Cup duo Igugu (headline photo) and Treasure Beach have arrived in Hong Kong and appeared on the Sha Tin track on Tuesday morning for the first time since their arrival.
They joined fellow internationals Eishin Flash and Sajjhaa in little more than a stretch of the legs on the all-weather track.

Faster work is planned, later in the week, for all four who looked in good shape, though the De Kock runners sweated slightly under the saddle in their new surroundings.
Mike predicted, post World Cup, that both runners were capable of improving on their performances in Dubai.
Treasure Beach, trained by Aidan O’Brien, was 9th from the outside barrier 13 in last year’s APQEII Cup, while first time visitor Igugu has the imposing record of seven wins from eight starts right handed and will be watched for a big run at this venue.

I personally think that you have done us proud over the years and I believe that Igugu is all class and I believe with a fast pace can win this race easy.
