IT will be quite interesting to see which of these runners will be off to stud at the end of the season but in the meantime one of them would like to go out with a bang in the Listed Off To Stud Handicap over 1800m at Scottsville on Sunday. 

Trainer Mike de Kock has two entries in Atlantic Oak (photo) and Checcetti and both must have a decent chance of taking the honours. Atlantic Oak makes the most appeal.

She is beautifully bred, being by Singspiel out of a Woodman mare, and has won six of her 15 races to date. She disappointed last time in the Listed Queen Palm Handicap over 2400m at Clairwood in which she finished a 6.80-length fifth behind Feel My Love. However, Atlantic Oak was cut into during that race and the run is best ignored.

She meets Feel My Love on 2.5kg better terms and that will assist her cause. Anthony Delpech takes the ride.

Checcetti might only have won two races this season but she has finished close behind the likes of Europa Point, Princess Victoria and Welwitschia. One of her victories was in the Grade 3 Jacaranda Handicap over 1800m at Turffontein where she beat stablemate Flirtation. Kevin Shea takes the ride.

Queen’s Command has not run her best races at Scottsville but she is loaded with class and with Anton Marcus up, Glen Kotzen’s charge should have a say in the finish.
