JOCKEY Kevin Shea (right) and Steven Jell with the stable’s former ace performer Archipenko at Lanwades Stud, Newmarket. The photo was taken during Shea’s visit a few weeks ago to Mike de Kock’s UK yard and he says: “Archie is looking great and he has produced some foals.”
Unfortunately during this trip, Shea fell down the stairs at the stables and was very badly concussed. He hasn’t ridden since.
He tells: “I had to go to Cambrige hospital and then flew back home the next day to have a brain scan and X-rays on my neck. I was knocked out for 15 hours! It’s been a hard time but my doctor won’t sign me on until I am 100% healthy. He says my recovery will take at least six weeks. I can feel that I am not there yet so I have to hang in.”

Hi There Kevin
Was wondering how come you have not been riding. But i guess the doctors are correct and you have to be 100% fit before riding again. As a fan wish he a speeding recover and hope to see you in the winners box soon. As you missed in the jockey champion title. Our prayers are with you.
Kev
Wishing you a speedy recovery
