DISCIPLINARY action is to be taken against the stipendiary stewards on duty at the race meeting at Flamingo Park on Monday last week, 7 January, after an inquiry into the result of Race 2 was completed on Monday.
A press release was issued yesterday by the National Horseracing Authority, stating: “An inquiry chaired by Advocate Guy Hoffman found that the stipendiary stewards had failed in their duty by not calling for either a review and/or an objection into an incident involving Betty Burke and Cyber Lady at approximately the 200m mark.

“The board was of the view that, had there been an objection, it would have been upheld. The members of the stipendiary board have acknowledged their error in judgment with regard to this incident.
“The National Horseracing Authority acknowledges that the stipendiary stewards failed in their duties and apologises to the public for the incorrect decision which was made.’’
