TAKING racehorses to the very precipice of their physical capabilities, as the top conditioners in the world have to nowadays, has become more and more scientific in the last decade and the science of feeding racehorses for their arduous and gruelling lifestyle is something most trainers fixate on.

He has now entered into a partnership with animal food distributors Epol with both a Muesli and pellet-type feed that will “revolutionise the feeding of racehorses in South Africa’’.
“Epol has always mixed my formulations but with the help of an animal nutritionist in Dubai, Dr Rensia de Wet, I’ve now improved on it. As my results in recent months show, we’ve produced a world-class horse feed and have entered into a joint business venture to market it not only in South Africa, but internationally,’’ he said.
“I prefer the pellets and I’m confident that this feed will stand up to any produced anywhere in the world.’’
It will be officially available from the end of August with the launch to be held in early September. – Racing Express.
