HEAVY weekend rain has led to soppy work tracks at training centres in Gauteng and trainers were unable to work their horses on Mondayand Tuesday, writes CHARL PRETORIUS. The grass track at Randjesfontein was used for a while, but there was another downpour during the course of Monday. It was hoped that, with no further rain, the tracks may be ready for normal work to resume on Wednesday.
Meanwhile Michael Ndlovu, the track manager at Newmarket, said that Tuesday night’s meeting would be going ahead as planned, although any further cloudbursts will jeopardize the meeting. The Alberton track was already very wet.
