100 up: 17th time!

HIGH Seas Beauty (Anthony Delpech) posted the stable’s 100th winner of the season when she won a MR84 Handicap over 1400m for Mayfair Speculators at the Vaal on Tuesday. The stable has racked up 100 winners or more 17 times in the last 20 years.

High Seas Beauty is a daughter of High Chaparral who has been limited to races up to 1600m so far and it will be interesting to see she goes when tried over more ground later in her career.

Racing over ground has certainy done the trick for Jessica Slack and Peter White’s filly B Twenty One, who has won four of her last six, including another good 2400m win under Delpech earlier in the day.

“Her merit rating has remained competitive and that has helped her to win so often, she’s a game filly,” said Mike de Kock.
